Tim grew up on a Nebraska dairy farm and understands the value of hard work and the wisdom of planning. He attended Kearney State College and after college, worked in the food distribution business. Tim saw the company decimated when one of the owners died in a car accident just hours before he was to sign his estate planning documents. It led Tim to a career in the financial planning business.
Tim entered the financial services business in 1983. Tim achieved a CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation in December 1990, a ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) designation in December 1996. He holds investment licenses, including the Securities Industry Essentials, Series 6, Series 63, Series 7, is a Series 24 Registered Principal. Tim is also a Series 65 Affiliated Registered Advisor.
Tim owned and operated O’Connor & Associates Inc. an insurance and financial planning firm for 35 years and was a consultant for several Central Nebraska banks. In 2017, Tim and his employees joined the staff at Equitable Wealth Management, a division of Equitable Bank with offices in Grand Island, Hastings, No Platte, Omaha and Elkhorn.
Tim specializes in Business and Personal Financial Planning with special expertise in closely held businesses, including Family Farm and Ranch Estate Planning and Business Continuation. Tim’s greatest strength is being able to talk to you in terms you can understand about complex planning problems and communicating them in a straightforward and understandable manner.
