Behavioral Health Resources for School Nurses

Behavioral Health Resources for School Nurses presented by Bernie Hascall, System of Care Administrator for the DHHS Department of Behavioral Health, and Kyle Kinney, Program Manager for the Nebraska Family Helpline on February 8, 2021.

School Nurses work every day to help students with behavioral and mental health problems in school, but in order for a student to succeed, they must have the help they need outside of school as well. That's why it's so important for school staff to be able to identify resources to help students and families when they are struggling. But with all the different resources out there, how do you know which one to call, or what will work best for different students' needs?

In this webinar, we will be speaking with Bernie Hascall, System of Care Administrator for the DHHS Department of Behavioral Health, and Kyle Kinney, Program Manager for the Nebraska Family Helpline, on how School Nurses can utilize free resources to help connect families with services. We will be taking a closer look at the Nebraska Family Helpline, why and how to use it as a tool to help your students, and the DHHS guide, "Behavioral Health Resources for Schools".
