5th Annual Immunize Nebraska - Immunization Conference
Purpose: To bring together individuals from Nebraska and surrounding states who are interested in promoting immunization
levels that will eliminate vaccine preventable diseases throughout the lifespan of all persons.
Objectives: At the end of this program the participant should be able to:
- Discuss current and future recommendations for childhood and adult immunization in the United States
- Describe pre- and post-licensure vaccine safety evaluations; common myths about vaccine safety; and review the importance of appropriate risk-benefit communication in the vaccine arena
- Review current recommendations for vaccination of women of child-bearing age
- Discuss recent controversies and questions regarding immunizations in the U.S.
- Examine the benefits and challenges of school-based immunization mandates
- Discuss clinical presentations of vaccine-preventable diseases
- Describe strategies to address pediatric and adult vaccine fears
