Assistive Technology for All

AT4ALL is a free service from the Assistive Technology Partnership. AT4ALL has a variety of equipment available for all of your needs. Equipment available includes computers wheelchairs scooters walkers personal care items items for vision and hearing impairments hospital beds and adapted vehicles. At AT4ALL you can find equipment for loan for sale or for giveaway. You can also find equipment from local lending program to try out before you buy it.


Beginnings

Beginnings is a nonprofit agency established to provide emotional support and objective information to parents of deaf and hard of hearing children.


Children of Aging Parents

Children of Aging Parents CAPS a national not-for profit agency recently announced the formation of a new support group for local caregivers at Omahas premier independent living community Elk Ridge Village. Elk Ridge Village which is located off of 194th Blondo just north of the West Dodge Expressway will pamper support group participants with complimentary refreshments in their exquisite dining room prior to each meeting.


CHIRS Consumer Health Information Resource Service

Need information to guide decisions about your health or the health of a family member or friend The McGoogan Library of Medicine provides such information to Nebraska residents free of charge through their Consumer Health Information Resource Service CHIRS. A Health Sciences Librarian will research your condition and provide a tailored package of information that may include Journal Articles Book Chapters Pamphlets and Web Resources. CHIRS information is provided for informational purposes only. Consult with your health care provider for specific medical questions. To request health information contact CHIRS or email them at askusunmc.edu or contact your local public library.

Housing.ne.gov

The Assistive Technology Partnership hosts this housing listing and locator service that will provide easy access to information about housing opportunities throughout Nebraska. The service allows Nebraskans to locate available housing that best fits their needs either through the web site or 1-888-806-6287. Individuals will be able to easily search for housing using a wide variety of search criteria access other helpful websites as well as tools for renters including an affordability calculator a rental checklist and renter rights and responsibilities information - also provides information on supportive services throughout the State especially those services linked to housing needs.


The Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center

The National Deaf Education Center at Gallaudet University has information on topics dealing with deafness and hearing loss including information services and programs support groups conferences and publications.


My Babies HearingBoystown National Research Hospital

The My Babies Hearing site provides information and resources for families with young children regarding hearing screening including information on Early Intervention services available.


The National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities NICHCY

The National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities NICHCY - This comprehensive site provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families educators and other professionals. They focus on children and youth birth to age 22. This NICHCY site and their publications are available in Spanish.


The National Information Clearinghouse on Children who are Deaf-Blind

The National Information Clearinghouse on Children Who Are Deaf-Blind - This information and referral service identifies coordinates and disseminates information related to children and youth who are deaf-blind.
