http://www.serve.nebraska.gov/index.htmlThe Nebraska Volunteer Service Commission strengthens Nebraska's spirit of service through partnerships, national service and volunteerism. The Commission, a team of fifteen to twenty-five Governor-appointed Commissioners and five staff, promotes service through four primary activities:
- AmeriCorps - administration of programs and funding within the state
- Citizen Corps - coordination of programming throughout Nebraska
- Volunteer recognition - including the quarterly Governor's Points of Light Awards and the annual First Lady's Awards for Outstanding Community Service
- Facilitating training and skill development - including hosting the Governor's Conference on Community Service-- a networking and learning opportunity for national service, community, volunteer and corporate leader
