Using the Dynamic Landscape

If you want to print a list of all plan options in your county/state without doing a one-on-one counseling session, you should consider using the dynamic landscape tool. This tool is particularly helpful if you are speaking to a large group and would like to hand out a list of plan options in a given county or state. To access and use this resource,

  1. Go to www.medicare.gov
  2. Select ‘Learn More About Plans in Your Area’
  3. From the following print screen, select your state of interest from the ‘Learn More About Plans in Your Area’ drop down menu and click the ‘View Plans’ button.
  4. Next you can either select a specific county or do a search for the entire state.

  5. Once you make your selection, the following page will show you all of the plans offering drug coverage in the specified jurisdiction, including Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs), Health Plans (MA-PDs), and Special Needs Plans (SNPs). You can limit the number of plans displayed based on your personal preferences by clicking on the ‘+’ sign just to the left of the ‘Limit the number of plans based on your personal preferences’ option. You can limit your search to any of the following criteria:
    • PDPs
    • MA-PDs
    • SNPs
    • Plans with a $0 premium for individuals with Full Low Income Subsidy
    • Plans that have an annual deductible of no more than: (Enter an amount between $0 and $265.00)
    • Plans that charge a monthly premium of no more than: (Enter an amount between $0 and $83.30)
    • Plans that offer drug coverage during the gap, and
    • Plans that are offered by specific companies.
  6. Limiting your search may be particularly useful if, for instance, you are working with a group of beneficiaries who all qualify for the full low-income subsidy and you only want to see options that offer the full premium subsidy or if you only want to see plans that offer coverage in the gap.
  7. If you want to print your search findings, go to ‘Print this page’ and your search results will print in a user-friendly format.
  8. If you want to conduct a personalized plan search in a one-on-one counseling session, we select you use the plan finder to find the best plan to meet an individual’s needs.
