Tips from Caregivers
Remember -

- You are a valuable natural resource
- You could have quit at any time
- You have made a choice to be in this role. It was a commendable decision
- You are doing your best
- You are informed - attempting to be prepared
- The caregiver role is making you stronger
- There are rainbows - look for them
- You can keep your sense of humor
- Exercise (I know-I know..... how many times do we have to hear that. But researchers now believe it is even beneficial for the brain. Exercise the body and the mind)
- Relax, daydream or meditate. There is always time for the things we really want to do.
- Get involved - find outside interests just for yourself
- Accept help
- Take care of your physical health - when was the last time you had a yearly physical?
- Play
- Music - can be a tranquilizer and spirit lifter
- Garden - watching something grow gives pleasure
- Mourn - you are experiencing many loses and it is okay to mourn
- Accept - the care receiver and your situation as it is now. It can relieve pressure and tension.
- Change your routine -
