Chancellor Place at Aspen Park is a senior-living campus that specializes in independent and assisted living, as well as Alzheimer's care. Available services include meals, housekeeping, laundry and linen, activities, local transportation, and assistance with personal care. Respite care is available for seniors in the assisted living residence and the atrium on a short-term basis, while family members or caregivers are out of town on vacation or family emergencies, or just to try them out.

CIRRUS HOUSE INC.

This is a non-profit facility, with 27 apartments (25 one-bedroom and 2 two-bedroom), for adults with mental illness. No income limit. Domiciliary available for temporary housing and homeless. One unit for handicapped on ground level. Residents required to be over age 18. Stove and refrigerator provided and utilities are paid. Pets allowed. They provide meals in the domiciliary. Their program has a medical clinic with licensed nurses, transportation and Assisted Living.

Pets are allowed if weighing under 20 pounds.

NORTHFIELD VILLA

Built in 1974. Nonprofit continuing care retirement center, for seniors age 62 or better, who need Independent Living, Assisted Living and/or Skilled Nursing. Life Care Facility with price of unit based on square feet. Cost includes investment and monthly maintenance fee. If you move to the skilled nursing unit, there is no extra charge except for supplies and extra meals. There are 138 Independent apartments, 10 assisted living apartments and a skilled nursing unit. Handicapped accessible building. Included in apartments: stove and refrigerator, carpeting and curtains. Utilities, electricity and cable TV are paid. Services include housekeeping, transportation, activities, maintenance, emergency call system and emergency nursing care, and meals. No pets allowed.

R. C. SCOT

HUD (Housing and Urban Development) subsidized apartments built in 1973 for people 62 years of age or better, and for handicapped and disabled. There are 50 one-bedroom apartments, seven of which are designated for handicapped units. There is a chair lift in each building. Price of rent is determined by income. Call for income limits. Utilities, heat, electricity and water are included. Appliances furnished are stove and refrigerator. Laundry facility on site. No pets allowed.

REGION I OFFICE OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Local Government providing Group Homes and Supported Community Living. Eligibility: Diagnosis of developmental disability; for all ages. Call for room and board charges. These are decided in conjunction with other state funding, depending on need. Group homes house from one to four individuals in typical neighborhood houses, and are licensed as "Centers for Developmental Disabilities." A unique service, providing 24-hour staff in "home like" living environments. Four units are handicapped assessable. Also provided is support to those individuals who need occasional assistance, but live in their own homes. Services include meals, laundry, housekeeping, assistance with medications, bathing/toileting, et cetera, for independent living skill development. Clients receive funding from the Department of Health and Human Services Developmental Disabilities Services.

THE RESIDENCY

A nonprofit facility. Independent living apartments built in 1993 for people age 62 or better. Life care community, with 18 one-bedroom, and 76 two-bedroom apartments, priced according to square footage and number of residents. Costs include an initial investment and a monthly maintenance fee. Stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and garbage disposal are furnished. Utilities are all included except the telephone. Services included are 24-hour nursing, emergency call system, transportation, meals, bi-weekly housekeeping, flat linens furnished and laundered, and a skilled nursing unit - all included in life care cost. Amenities include security guards, parking, garages, library, craft room, exercise room, pool tables, four coffee lounges, and balcony lounges. Pets are allowed.

THE VILLAGE AT REGIONAL WEST

For-profit Senior Retirement Facility with 100 apartments. Offers both Independent Living, and Licensed Assisted Living with three levels of care, for ages 55 or better. Simple lease with monthly payments. Price range depending on level of service and size of units. There are independent units (600 to 890 square foot) with services and amenities including kitchen appliances, utilities (except telephone and cable TV), scheduled transportation, and other. Assisted Living (400 to 750 square foot) units includes apartment rent, utilities except Cable TV and telephone, and services provided for in the different levels of care. Separate garage are rented on a monthly basis. Pets allowed in designated apartments. Other amenities include: handicapped accessible building, security system, elevators, scheduled transportation service, meeting rooms and kitchen for family gatherings.

VALACIA APARTMENTS

For-profit USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) Rural Development Subsidized Senior Housing Apartments. Twenty-four 2-bedroom apartments built in 1982 for seniors (62 years of age or better), or handicapped persons. Income is based on adjusted monthly income. Subsidized units total 15 apartments based upon 30 percent of adjusted income; two handicapped units, fully handicapped accessible. Inclusions are stove, refrigerator, air conditioner, carpeting and drapery rods, all utilities paid except telephone and cable TV. Community Building with kitchen and laundry facilities. Pets are allowed.

VALLE VERDE HOMES
At scattered sites in Bayard (6) and Scottsbluff (10).

Nonprofit, subsidized housing built in 1998. Migrant farm labor priority; off-season tenants may be required to move as migrants arrive. Sixteen three and four-bedroom duplexes with square footage ranging from 1015 to 1216. Call for prices (30 percent of income for rent; tenant pays utilities but receives utility allowance from $137 to $165). One three-bedroom handicapped unit available. Stove, refrigerator included and, in some cases furniture also. Coin operated washers/dryers on site for each duplex. Off-street parking.

WEL-LIFE

For-Profit. Licensed Assisted Living Community built in 1998. Forty-four apartments ranging in size from 306 to 612 square feet. Cost vary depending on size. There are five handicapped units with roll-in shower stalls. Facility is all on ground level, halls are 8 foot wide with rails and main entry is automated. Services available include meals, housekeeping, personal laundry, scheduled transportation, and 24 hour staffing. All these services are included at Level I Care prices. Four levels of care are available depending on an individual's needs. Apartment inclusions are: small refrigerator, and microwave and all utilities are paid, except telephone.

Heritage was built in 1967, with an addition in 1980. Currently two Alzheimer's Units are under constriction for early and late stage care. NORTHFIELD VILLA MED CENTER

Monthly prices are determined by level of care and choice of space. Skilled services include: Rehabilitation - stroke, neurological, orthopedic, adult and children respite stays, adult day/night care - Medicare/Medicaid certified. Amenities: Family gathering rooms, basic cable TV, Community meeting rooms, Adult Day Care, complimentary family guest quarters.
